We believe in building an organization of strong people. Our senior management team is heavily investing in developing our staff skills and leadership via the following programs.
Future Leader Trainee Program
Carthage System provides a Future Leader Trainee (FLT) program to qualified applicants. The FLT is typically an entry level spot for new graduates in animal sciences or similar agriculture degree. It is a program that includes 20 weeks of on-farm and classroom training. For the remainder of the program, trainees will work through a farm rotation to have maximum exposure to management styles and farm management ranging in size from 2,400 to 6,000 head farms. After completion of the program in 12 to 18 months, candidates are expected to be promoted into one of our Head of Department roles on a commercial sow farm.
Total Leader Experience
Total Leader Experience (TLE) is a bi-monthly program that brings people from all segments of our business together for open discussion and to help our leadership skills to bring out the best in our employees by teaching them about expectations, responsibility, and feedback.
Carthage Management Training
Carthage Management Training (CMT) is designed to raise the skill level, train and retain qualified staff and ultimately help make the job easier when managing employees. This training program covers four components of employee engagement as well as supervisory responsibilities to better prepare you to successfully and confidently manage your team.
